Hey guys,

For those of you that have adult Haitian Giants (S. alternans) how is the attitude compared to that of the adult S. subspinipes. I've got quite a few different S. subspinipes variants, as well as a single S. alternans. I've noticed that where pedelings are concerned, the S. alternans are a heckuva lot more laid back than they subspinipes are. More of a calm demeanor if you will.

Is this something that carries over to the adults of the species as well? Or do these some what docile pedelings end up as aggressive in the long run?

Thanks.

the adult haitians i used to have were some of the most nervous pedes i ever had

i only had a couple though, so not much of a sample size.

I have one adult and some plings. The adult has not surfaced once in my view since I bought it 4 months ago or so. I've seen one eaten dubia recently so it must have been up during the night, but so am I and I've never seen it.

I have one big adult, it stays buried the vast majority of the time and is generally a LOT more laid-back than any of my other pedes. It hardly even moves when the enclosure is moved or if I accidentally spray it while misting the tank.

Generally I find it will stay buried for 2-3 months at a time, and then surface for a week or so, which I take to mean that it's hungry.

Right on guys. I remember reading up on them before purchasing, and them hiding for months on end was definitely common place where these pedes are concerned.

I appreciate all the info as well.

Hey Moose, or Tom Mayorsky might be better,....nevermind the critters....you ever going to send me my vape that I bought from you on Ebay? Or refund my cash?

I thought you were deathly ill? Did you use my cash to buy a taurantula?

I am not the only one who youve ripped off on that site so before I go on any further with your address, I think you should respond and moreover I think you should send what I bought or send the cash that I sent you.

Scumbag

Piranha Trader, I'm sure there would have been much better ways of getting through to Moose then to spam up a thread I made, that has exactly NOTHING to do with your purchase.

Maybe you should be looking into private messages no?
