Rough but beautiful - Carabus (Coptolabrus) elysii

Carabus (Coptolabrus) elysii, a ground beetle endemic to China with a very interesting texture on the elytra and a beautiful bronze color. This specimen here is in rather rough condition, missing part of a tarsus and several palps, but still a nice critter. Specimen origin: Shende, Anhui, China.

WOW, now THAT is a gorgeous beetle...
I REALLY dig the metallic copper/rose golds, & black...a LOT.
Man, if that could be adequately captured in automotive paint...
