Rosy boa temp/humidity questions

A couple questions for you L. trivirgata keepers. :)

I saw a nice desert rosy boa in the local herp shop today and am thinking of picking it up soon. I've looked at care sheets and have everything necessary for keeping one but the temperature/humidity thing is making me question my decision to buy this snake.

I'm wondering if keeping this species at a constant temperature in the upper 80s Fahrenheit would cause any problems. I only have one small closet in which to keep snakes and providing a proper gradient, thanks to the cool ambient temps in the building, is extremely difficult. The constant temps have seemed to work great for my ball python and Colombian boa but they're very different snakes so I'm just kind of curious.

If the above scenario isn't ideal, how would keeping the rosy in an area with high-60s to very low-70s ambient temp with an UTH do?

Thanks for any advice.

-David

EDIT: I kind of forgot the humidity part of the questions. In the closet the humidity remains high due to the two snake enclosures currently kept there. In the main part of the apartment I imagine the humidity will get quite low this winter. Low humidity = good things for rosies but are they good coupled with the low temps? What about with the higher temps of the closet?

Warm is fine, but very low humidity. My understanding is that they can get potentially fatal respiratory infections at high humidity. In fact, I only offer mine water once every week or two.

Otherwise a great pet species, pretty low maintenance. Good luck!

Thanks, Brian, for the reply. Based on your answer to my questions I'm guessing that keeping the rosy in with the other two snakes isn't the best idea (humidity is too high).

I just got a pretty good reading of what the temp in my living room is tonight. It's in the lower to mid-60s and the humidity, based off readings at work (which should be pretty similar, within a % point or two) are running in the mid-30% range or so. Would this be okay as long as I was running an UTH? Should I give this snake a brumation period at the low temps in my apartment since it looks like it's an adult?

Am I worrying too much? Should I just buy the damn thing and see how it works out? {D J/K
