Hi all,
I guess you could say I'm an official t freak, as I have 4 Usambara's. I won them at the t conference. Actually, I won 12..=D However, I gave 8 to L-Mactans (did I spell that right, Kelly)?
Anywho, they're getting BIG! Jeez, these grow fast! Which brings me to my other point, transferring them..*gulp* Ok, they're still little. Ok, I have a free 10G, that I use for all my transfers. We'll see how I do..
I'm debating the positives of either lots of coffee or, going it "dry". *lol* I think, however, that I'd rather not do more than 1 a day..transferring t's, that is.
Peace,
Gillian

I just moved my 3 usumbara slings (also from ATS Conference) today. I put them into small deli cups. They were not bad at all, I just sat on the carpet with the new container ready and opened the lid on the old ones. I then just prodded the slings out onto the substrate in the new cage and put the lid on. Usumbara don't really get too nasty untill they are about 2 inches or so in my experience.

hey

My usambara is just a little baby I say about 1.5" any ways they're fast but in no way agressive at an early age I belive they develop that later on. They're pretty shy though but what you do is have enough room so you can keep an eye on it because if you dont it might hide under something and um thats not good. so any ways have anice day

I have three, I have transferred them a couple times already and they are getting big! One thing I noticed about them in comparison is that they arent as predictable about which direction they are taking off in, will definitely keep you on your toes.;)

All 8 of the Usambaras that were gifted to me (THANK YOU GILLIAN!) are in the process of moulting this week. I think there is ony 1 or 2 who haven't yet.
I had to do a transfer of all of them to a 1lb deli cup each because of the growth. Let me tell you how much fun that was for me! Up until now all I have really had were sluggish B. smithi and G. roseas, and to see these OBT FLY was so cool.
I did the transfers in my bathtub, and had everything that I knew I would need and a lot of stuff I thought I would need within hand's reach. Last thing I wanted was an OBT running around my bathroom (*memories of Scorpion incident in a latrine last year still haunt me*). But everyone, including myself, have come through happy and comfortable with the new accomodations. :D
