Yellow bandeds are pretty rare around here. And now a little rarer.

Such beautiful animals, such? A tragedy. I suppose it's the circle of life but it sure is the crappy side of it. It appears as though they kind of went out of their way to hit it considering it's position on the line. Things like that make me ashamed of my species

I moved it off the road lest I share it's fate. However, kraits are very ready victims on the roads. They become fully active and mobile in the evenings. During the day then tend to relocate and being both ectothermic and extremely laconic they are slower than sloths. Thus roadkills are very common. I've had numerous vehicle dodging episodes while I goad them snails pace off the roads during my daily bike rides.
It is downright paradoxical. During the day they are so slow they barely even wriggle and coil on a hook. Just dangle and humm to themselves. Come around 9:00 in the evenings it's like they transform into king cobras, lithe and powerful, coiling instantly into knots on the hook.

If you're going to be fussy fussy, the map reaches the Bearing Straight, within a few miles of the north pole, Scotland, Saudi Arabia and Western Aus. The arrowhead is almost exactly 2000 km across and the tip points just west of the center of the northern extension of Thailand which is the province of Chiang Mai. More or less. I am also east of Arcturus. And west.
