Roach?

it looks more beetleish to me. the antennae don't look right for a roach.:?

im interested to see what the smart people think. Most beetles, i feel, have more pronounced elytra than that. The legs look roachish but the antennae maybe not. I'm saying roach

Definately the carrion beetle Necrophila americana. No where near being a roach. Beetle that eats dead flesh for a living.

It's a neat beetle to culture if you can stand the smell. If you feed them dead mice or pieces of beef heart they do really well, but despite that they eat nearly all of that the culture still has an ...unpleasant...smell to it.
