roach wont eat please help

hello has any body had any trouble getting their roaches to eat because one of my females isn't eating. this is weird because all they do is eat then get eaten. I call them cattle because thats pretty much what they are.:eek:

oh, I think that she is gravid that is why I care.:D

what are temps ? type of roach? was she well fed before the sabatical from food ? how long has it been? does she look thin? fat? what food are you feeding her? all will help in determining possible problems

she was well fed and her 1 cage mate is eating. the temp is around 70-79.The cage mate is a full grown male.She is bigger than him.She is also very fat.She's a hissing cockroach.I've been feeding them banana and carrots that are crushed up. All the others are fine and eating.:confused:.what do you feed youre roaches?

She could be
1. Really old.
2. Getting ready to give birth.
3. Sick.

Basically, you'll just have to wait things out and see.
How can you be sure she hasn't eaten?

Do you wash their food very good before giving it to them? Everything from the store is usually covered in pesticides.

In my experience hissers arent exactly gluttons, as long as they arent skinny I bet theyre allright

I agree with burmish101. I have a colony and they don't eat nearly as much as any of my other species.
