I live in central Florida wher we already have tons of roaches native of course. Now my state is pretty anal about anything that isn't native requiring permits and what-not. I'm sick and tired of crickets. The smell, the mess, and they die on me all the time. Well I was planning on breeding a roach colony, but can't find any laws on them other than I know for a fact that multiple online stores will not ship to FL. Can anyone help me with this? Any species I keep if it gets loose can cause an infestation, which is why Iwas planning on something like the Turkistan Roach. Not being able to fly or climb glass is a nice perk. If anyone has any advice on particular species, permits, or bans I would be grateful. I've contacted the Florida Wildlife Commission and they gave the same standard answer. "We don't require permits. Contact the Florida Dept. of Agriculture." They alsogive the same general answer. "All exotic animals that are not purchased from a licensed vendor within state boarders require a permit in order to buy, own, sell, or trade. Note some species are strictly prohibited without special licenses. (You have to be a scientist in a lab.) In order to get a permit send in one adult male and one adult female for verification purposes along with $12.50 to pay for the fee."
