Roach ID

[Vulgaris]

This large roach flew down and actually landed on my mom while we were walking on a Nature trail down in the outer banks of North Carolina.

She absolutely freaked and it flew down into the leaves. I wanted to catch it but I did not have anything to catch it with.

I do not mind seeing roaches in their natural habitat even though I am guessing this is just an american raoch

This is the roach Periplaneta fuliginosa. Similar to the American cockroach but slightly smaller and without the characteristic markings.
