RIP Smoke

This was my puppy Smoke. Last night she climbed the fence and was run over by a car, she didnt make it. I feel so terrible right now, she was my responsibility and I let her down. Due to extenuating circumstances she was temporarily living with a friend of mine. I wasnt able to get her spayed before she moved over to my friends house, and the reason she climbed the fence was because she was in season, an trying to get to the male.

I dont even have any good pictures of her, this is the best one, taken with my cell phone. Im going to get a paw print tattoo for her, with her name.

It sounds cliche: But I am so sorry to hear.

Losing a pet is just as hard to me as losing a loved one of the human persuasion.

Aw, sorry about that! I know from experience that it is difficult losing a dog. I've had an assortment of critters pass thru my life and the dogs were always the hardest to let go.
About all you can do is focus on the fact that you put joy into her life and she paid it back with interest until it was time for her to go. You did not let her down at all. It sounds trite, but these things happen, and when they do, you can't blame yourself. I speak from experience there, too.
