Rice growing in springtail container

So I followed all the directions for the springtail culture kit. The population exploded, theirs a lot of them.

The only problem is the damn rice is growing! The container is near full of them, and they are trying to grow out of the tupperware containers >.<

What should I do? Will I have to buy charcoal and transfer everything?

Could the rice be cut?
Would it grow back?

Or could "old" rice be transplanted?
