I went back to a pet shop near Shaw AFB in Sumter, SC, today, to pick up a probably-VERY-pregnant Emperor Scorpion I saw there this past weekend. While I was there before, I'd noticed an enclosure with the lable, "Giant Pink-Toe Tarantula", but had not been able to see any spider inside, so I figured they'd sold it, or it was a tiny 'sling. Well, today, the resident of that enclosure was out and about from underneath a Pothos plant in the enclosure. I do not know if this is really a "Giant Pink-Toe"(A. braunshauseni) or not, since it doesn't really look like one, except that she(is supposed to be a guaranteed female)is freakin' HUGE, much larger than my mature female A. metallica, and is the bluest Avic I've ever seen! Needless to say, I had to bring her home, too. These pics have NOT been re-touched, except to re-size them, so in terms of color, what you see is what you get. She is really this blue to the naked eye.
