So my boa had a bad shed a month ago and she has two retained eye caps and some attached old skin still. I've been misting her and bathing her occasionally with only some of the skin coming off. My boa keepers manual said to use artificial tear ointment to the eyes twice daily until the caps come off. Is this safe? What brands would you recommend? And if possible, do you guys have any suggestions on methods you use to loosen dead skin and eye caps?
Thanks again folks,

Also, one side of her face has a slight abnormality of the mouth with what may be some kind of minor infection. May be a tooth infection from what I've read in my book. I have a list of numbers I local vets and I'm making some calls tomorrow before work. Hopefully one of them will have some knowledge of reptiles so I can get her checked out by a professional because this is my favorite snake and my only boa so I want her to be healthy and happy.
Now, in the event that none of them are able to examine her with genuine knowledge, what could I do? If no vets can help with a snake then what are the other options because I suspect that these vets may not be able to help, although my fingers are crossed.
Another question, what would cause this snake to develope these issues? She always has fresh food and water and heat. I bought her as a recently hatched young snake. I bought her over the summer and he is currently almost 2 feet.
Thanks again folks,
