Okay... so I am needing some Retail Therapy here and T's are my new thing... no longer shoes, purses, leather and suede jackets and so on

The criteria goes like this...

..something blue ..something with a little 'tude ...something possibly Poeci
....something blonde, maybe? ..something in the Lasiodora genus that is hard to come by and/or not so hard to come by (I'm open)

Here's what I have been seriously pricing...

P. regalis and P. pederseni in various sizes
H. maculata
P. chordatus
Cyriopagopus sp. "blue"
C. cyaneopubescens
L. klugii and others

I'm open to "blonde" suggestions...

Help me!! :D

Thanks!

A GBB or a Lasidora polycuspulatus since you are into Lasidoras these days.
Or you can see if you can find a blue phase A. seemani.
Actually for attitude with beauty how about something like a C. marshalli? Or go with the H. maculata, that one is on my wishlist.
Oh, heck, just get them all. Your husband is gonna figure this out eventually anyway.

All of those make this a hard choice. I especially love maculata because of that species patterns. Cyriopagopus sp. is by far my favorite. The blue of them (singapore blue) is just breath taking.

P. Pulcher is blond.. Mine's got a lot of webbing around the top of the enclosure, but, it's still just about always semi-visible.. I hear they're kinda crazy as adults.

L. polycuspulatus is actually in the Lasiodorides (sp.) genus, and not in the Lasiodora genus... but you have suggested that one twice now, Mina... so I may take you up on it! It's "blonde", too! :D

I have a little Cobalt Crazy on the way, this week, in fact! :)

P. pulcher, hunh? I'll have to look into that more.

Looks like the H. mac female I inquired after is being considered by someone else, so hopefully they will back out and I can get her. I love the pattern on them, too!

The other thing is, I have a house full of terrestrial babies now... with one little Avic versi that I've raised up from a tiny sling. She needs some arboreal company, I think. ;)

Thanks, you guys! Keep the suggestions and stuff coming! (Mina, don't you tell my hubby I have all these bugs in here!! :p )

Okay... C. marshallii has a "horn" and I'm not keen on that "horn" thing for some reason. Does it look as odd in person? It looks like a "growth" to me... like TWO horns would be acceptable, but not just the one. {D

I'd suggest :

Blue phase A. seemani or a GBB.

for Blond : Aphonopelma chalcodes

But I'm a wimp when it comes to " agressive " T's

P. pederseni

Okay, i have to throw in my vote for the P. pederseni. This is the only pokie i have of any real size. i have a 6"+ female and a MM on loan. Both these T's are GREAT!! If i remember this female Pokie was the first T is spent any amount of money and i really debated about it. i am so glad i got her. She is awesome. She catches her food mid air before it hits the ground. She's gorgeous! i've got other Pokies but they are all small still. As far as attitude, she isn't nearly as bad as i thought a Pokie would be so maybe you want a T with a little more tude?? Both her and the male are fairly easy to move if i need to. i can usually just talk them into going where i need them to without too much hassle. Nothing at all like a lot of the stories i had read about. Maybe it is just these two - i don't know. i love them!

Anyway, i vote for P. pederseni!! {D

how about Bonnetina cyaneifemur? kind of rare in the trade and some beautiful blue femurs...i have a 1" sling that a friend i made at arachnocon 07 gave me and even at that size the colors are striking...

all in all i'm not that into new world species but the B. cyaneifemur is fast becoming a favorite in my collection:)

Jules, I think you just convinced me to go and get the 3+ inch P. pederseni in the shop near me... tomorrow! :)

Harvey, I'll have to look that one up cuz this is maybe the second time I've ever heard mention of it, but it sounds amazing!

I am leaning hard at getting two L. klugii and possibly the P. pulcher for the arboreal aspect or the L. polycuspulatus cuz Mina has suggested this one to me twice now and I trust her judgement ;)

I appreciate all the great info... thanks so much! :D

A couple of suede jackets could have paid for a P. metallica. It's blue and its definitely Pokie. :p

I'm not sure if you're like me, but I don't want one because they're all the rage. Blue is my my second favorite color and I've heard P. metallica's aren't as skittish as other Pokies. So while I know it isn't full of attitude, it's still blue and breathtaking to look at.

Cyriopagopus sp. "Singapore Blue" is another one, but I've yet to see a really good picture of one that is representative of what everyone describes.

P. pulcher is a really nice "blonde" spider imho. I really like all of the Psalmo's though. Or how about a Tapinauchenius sp. of some sort perhaps, like T. gigas? I've heard Taps are like Avics with PMS. {D

GREAT CHOICE!!!

Oh if you do you'll have to post a pic ASAP!! i have absolutely zero regrets about purchasing my P. pederseni. In fact, just moved the male back in with her tonight. He thought about maybe going out into my room rather than into her house but one touch of the paint brush and he complied like a gentleman. He entertained the thought of a threat pose but it wasn't worth his while.

i've never had a MM Pokie of any kind before and this guy starts tapping in the wee hours of the morning (like 2 or 3 am) every morning! i finally got used to the fact it wasn't somebody tapping on my bedroom window.

i don't think you'll be sorry with a P. pederseni. i think it was a good first Pokie for me and hopefully i will grow into the rest as they get bigger!

Good Luck!

Taceas... I am just like that! I like a lot of "all the rage" ones, but shy away from them simply because they are so popular at the given moment. And I just missed a couple of "Singapore Blues", recently. They were in the 1-2" range, but already showing a hint of their "blueness" and SPEED. (Hopefully, the next 2 I find nearby won't be dead when I get there... or I can find a decent deal online). I have looked into the Taps more lately.. especially the purple and mahogany ones :D An Avic with PMS, you say? Intriguing! :p

Jules... I will definitely post pics! For all that I've read and read and read on Poec's, it seems my first should be either a P. regalis or P. pederseni and since I can readily get my grubby little spider paws on the P. pederseni... there's nothing like seeing them in person... I think I will begin there! ;)

Grundo, my MM B. vagans, used to serenade me with his drumming... I miss that ol' maniac guy.
