I hope Kenthebugguy reads this. Received a letter from my state rep Roy Blunt of Missouri. We can do this guys!!! Lets keep pressing on about changing this for our hobbies and businesses!!!!
I 2nd this request. This sounds like a good thing! Anything for the progress of the hobby. Can you post the letter?
Technically, it's not - but it is against USPS regulations, for shagrins I actually went to the automated scale last wk and entered that I was shipping a tarantula when it gave me a list of things as an inquiry and the machine told me everything it could without cussing - those machines are really polite. Is it illegal to ship Ts in the mail or something? :?
Just ...::smile::... & ...::nod::... and look the other waySo how come bit-time invert dealers don't get in trouble for shipping stuff? I wouldn't think that it would be hard for the USPS to figure out what they are putting in their boxes.
What do you mean attract atention? People mail inverts all the time, just look at the for sale section.Just ...::smile::... & ...::nod::... and look the other waybefore you attract too much attention
The USPS has a "special handling" thing where you can ship animals but it's pretty tight and express is two day and they make no guarantees. What we need to do is convince them that everything is safe and sound. Of course, starting at the highest levels and working our way down helps get the attention we need to press our cause.so i belive maybe once day we could persuade them into letting us ship our Ts. but there will be "shipping requirements" probly extra handling cost, and an inspection of the goods.
USPS Mailing RegulationsWhere exactly does it say in USPS regulations that you can't ship Tarantula/spider/inverts???
Mailability Section 601 said:8.5 Harmful Matter—General

c. All disease germs or scabs.
d. All explosives, flammable material, infernal machines, and mechanical, chemical, or other devices or compositions that may ignite or explode
