Poor thing has just a nub for an abdomen . When i sprayed the side of its tank today iT ran out and started drinking the dropplets. The owner has been missing for two weeks and his roommate said he doesn`t even know if it s alive. I threw in like 3 crickets and it ate immediateley . I can only see one now so it must still be filling up. There`s a discarded moult on the bottom of its tank. I`m not too sure about trying to remove it yet, `cause i`ve heard of its temperment and toxin levels. I `m not sure if it a Fringed ornamental of a redslate ornamental. Very yellow-orange under front legs and beautifull markings. When i first seen its little legs sticking out of its hide I thought it was a P. irminia, which i already own, because of the red stripe down the tip of its legs, but when it came out to drink i noticed i got one hell of a deal (free!!!). Well I`m just wondering if you guys can give me any tips on keeping this spp. It`s gettin roughly the same requirements as my P. irminia, there both about 3-4".

Thanks,

Mat

I currently own a whole bunch of scorps and have had other T`s in the past.TIA

Ya you can basically keep it in the same environment as the Suntiger. Good job on the Poke and nice deal. I think they tend to be more defensive then anything, if you treat it with respect and dont bug it you should be fine. Give it somewhere to hide if it doesnt have something already. And there is a caresheet on this website for pokes so check it out if you want any more info

Pokies are just nervous,if they have a place to hide you will be fine, they would rather run than bite, the poke that you are describing with the yellow underneath sounds like a P reglas,
It will do perfectly fine the same way as a sun tiger

hope this helps

Hee hee hee! That's too funny.

I notice you're in Hull. I'm an Ottawa gal myself. Are you planning on breeding in the future? Not the pokies, mind you, but something a little more cuddly...? :)

Well, I have a cat. In my bug collection so far there's nothing but the ambition to own a tarantula at some point when I can convince my husband they're safe. So I guess right now I'm learning a lot about husbandry and admiring other people's bugs. :)

Scorpions are pretty cool to look at - big land-lobsters. :) Overall I think I'm interested in more tactile pets that I can enjoy - so a docile tarantula that tolerates being handled, rather than a big, aggressive arthropod eating machine of some kind.

But yeah, it would be nice to meet more bug enthusiasts in the area. We should grab a beer/coffee sometime.
