A little background Info: I have 5 tarantulas but I am getting ready to move to Jacsonville FL yeah it is gonna be fun transporting them plus a greentree python and a spastic cat. I have just got out of a bad 5 year relationship (poor me)where I was engaged, long story short she cheated were done and now I am collecting T's again thank god I missed this hobby. I wasn't looking to pick up anything till I moved but then it happened...(drama sound the music). I walk into a petshop that is known for never taking care of there animals and what do I see.... A very sad and depressed Reglais no hide no aboreal setup and no water dish. Here is the scary part the kid who works there says he pokes it every day to make sure she is still alive. I then spend the next 20 minutes talking to the owner who didn't have a clue what medically significant means. In the end he sold her to me for 40 dollars and I am just glad he let me have her she was in a sad state. He wanted 100 dollars for her. She is 2 inches and I don't care about the money I just get Pissed:mad: when people treat animals so bad or don't research what they order. I will post pics soon... p.s. she is so much happier now.:D

Welcome back.

Nice acquistion on the regalis. Sounds as though you both needed each other.
She needed a real owner and you needed another T.

First off, congrats on the new addition! Just some advice for future reference, "rescuing" T's from a pet store is generally a bad idea because the pet store will just replace that T with more. In turn, those new T's will suffer just as badly.

Good for you! I want one as well. Hope to get one in the future. Also Good for you for getting back to the hobby. My wife made me sell my original 5 tarantulas (All Female:mad: ) when we got married. I regretted that moment. Than after 5 years, I managed to get three. I persisted for 5 years! So now I'm happy and at the same time mad and frustrated that I can't get more!!!! :wall:

I hear ya but the owner was really understanding and I think he realized after I explained that old world T's are bad news I told him to stick with rosa or smithi for first time buyers. He really felt bad thats why he let me have her and I am sure he paid mark up, I told him I would help educate him on what is suitable for first time T buyers.

Congrats on the Ts, keep your chin up. Remember that a break up is the universe saving you from life long misery. Shake it off, learn from it, self improve, choose better next time. In the meantime...love your T!
