Is it OK to use it in a B. Smithi terrarium? I don't have a separate room to keep my T so I don't want to heat my room up to 80 degrees with a space heater and I don't know if a heat mat would offer enough heat.

do you need it or do you just want it. Can you maintain the temperature without it is what I'm asking. Also are you talking about one of those red lights or a moon light?

just go for it... ive used a red heat bulb the whole time ive owned ts and have never had a problem... i currently have 9 ts in their enclosures all hovering around a single bulb and they do just fine.

temps in my house range from 68-70 degrees.

It'll be fine at those temps during the winter as long as it doesn't drop below 65 and stay for a substantial amount of time. If you still feel the need to get one just get a regular lamp and use a regular red bulb. Don't use a heat lamp or heating mat. They're a waste when it comes to T's because they're not needed IMO.
