How often do you guys re-home your adult Ts? Aside from mold/mite infestations, are there other triggers that always make you kick off a rehouse project?

Hi
If there is no particular reason I need to rehouse I don't disturb them.I never change the setup or rehouse unless spider is outgoing the enclosure or there is an issue that needs correction. Some tarantulas take months to settle in a new(or changed) setup. There is just no need for it.
Regards Konstantin

Most of my tarantulas are in their adult enclosures by roughly 5". Barring selling/trading/breeding, the only time they will be taken out of their enclosures is if they are being upgraded to a display enclosure from a more functional enclosure or if their is an intolerable mold situation (hasn't happened yet for me).

Once they are in their 'forever homes' I only mess with them for maintenance (rare) I don't rehouse adults unless there is a major issue that demands it. So far, hasn't happened. I just did final rehousing for 3 Ts and moved 1 from it's teen house to its young adult house

I would have to agree that only rehouse when absolutely necessary so you do not put any udo stress on your tarantula.

Got it... that's what I thought. With all the discussions about OWs and "rehoming" I was wondering if others did much more rehousing than I do. I haven't rehoused my spiders since they went into their full-size tanks, that's 3 or 4 years ago at this point.

for OW fossorials I do a final home around 3". They are gonna dig a burrow so if you place the food near the burrow it doesn't get lost

Do it once, do it right and be done
Agreed!

I have 2 sister C versi. I can put them into something larger and give it another molt to finally home them. I have better things to do. They are going in their final home now.

besides who wants them to have to redo all that webbing?

Mine appears to be making a Sac web now (we paired her last week)

Exactly, I remember, you might be getting blue jewels soon. If only they stayed that color as adults!

my daughter nearly Rick rolled them during the pairing. Instead she went with 'Careless Whisper' because saxophones are good for the baby making

Nope. Never rehoused an adult T other than mold or getting a better enclosure. Why would you? Every rehouse literally "resets" the animal and it has to get familiar with the new surroundings.

I rehoused a couple of adult fossorials last summer. I rehoused them because I was tired of looking at them through foggy sterilize containers and moved them into clear acrylic kritter keepers.

I took the enclosures outside, I have a big backyard and don't use chemicals on the grass. I lured the tarantulas out of burrows with a willow branch and catched cupped and rehoused. It was really easy and uneventful.
