So I am a first time owner, that has done what I thought was a fair amount of research. She is a female regal jumping spider. She will stalk and attack her prey (tried both meal and wax worms), seems to be able to bite them, but then backs away. Most recently bit the mealworm twice, however the worms never die. One of the first times she went to check on it, but since that she only stalks and attacks, never latches or kills her prey. I’m not sure how or what to do to help, but I have watched her abdomen shrink over the week and a half of having her. Please help, she has what I believe is adequate lighting/light cycle, appropriate temperature, and I mist one side of her enclosure twice a day.
