We just picked up a little red trapdoor today, and would love to find some info on this neat little species. If anyone has a good caresheet in mind (general care, longevity, husbandry, etc), I would be MOST appreciative...

Also, we'd love to hear other people's experiences. Thanks!

I was talking to a dealer at a show last year and he said that they liked fairly dry conditions and that if you set them up right, you'd probably never see them.

Yes, that's right. I've had few trapdoors and never saw them. There are few different red trapdoors from tanzania. S robertsi is one of them but from what I've heard the ones labeled as robertsi are often something else, often Idiops sp.

trap door

You might try the ant farm approach. It would have to be home made of course, but would be an awsome display animal that way. How much do trap doors go for? Nice spider.
