Red Trapdoor Pics

Here are some pics of my Gorgyrella sp. trapdoor spider. She is about 2.75 in.
She actually seems pretty docile, but the only time I had her out was when I had to move her to a larger quarters, so I took some pics real quick. After she molts, she stays white for a while and gradually turns red.{duh}

Thanks chief. She is great to watch eat. The tunnels she builds are insane. When she senses danger she grabs the lid and pulls it down with great strength. Smart little devil...

how did u get that molt shot?

i am happy that mine eats well and poops well,,,cuz thats all i can tell if mine is healthy or not since i cant see her, just wondering how you were able to see if yours was premolt and how you took it out and etc...

how deep is her burrow? pretty much straight down isnt it?

Since I've had her she has molted twice and I've moved her to larger quarters twice. I was lucky to catch her in post molt the second time I had to move her. I was extremely careful and prepared for anything. I was pretty quick about it because of concern for her well being. Just some light taps on the rump with a stick makes her move in the desired direction. Just like walking a dog. Her burrow is pretty deep and straight down with a great lid, and mine poops a lot, too. Later, SM

i have to get a trapdoor.. been wanting one for a while.. everytime i see pics i want one even more..

I really want a trapdoor spider, too. I have this idea for building a wood-framed cage with fabric flaps on the sides so I could peek under and see it in the burrow.
