I won't be getting one anytime soon, but I have recently become very interested in Columbian red tail boas.

What is the absolute "BEST" setup for them? I'm willing to pull out all the stops when the time comes. In particular: Enclosure, enclosure size, heating, lighting, substrate, etc.???

For the enclosure size, I mean the size it would need to be for an adult. I understand that they usually don't get over 6 feet, maybe a little longer?

My bearded dragon is in dire need of a new tank, an adult in a twenty gallon is NOT a good thing, and I was thinking that I could get a tank the right size for the adult boa and use it for my Beardie for the time being. Later on when my beardie sadly, but inevitably, dies, I could disinfect the enclosure and use it for the boa.

a tall enclosure..maybe four feet by four feet, by six feet tall.
simple setup.
maybe two large limbs at different levels.
large water dish that cant be spilled.
needs to be easy to clean.

"A little longer" being 12-14 feet. ;) The largest Red-Tailed Boa in captivity is a 14.5 foot female.

Unless you've owned hundreds for their entire lives, the internet disagrees with you.

http://www.anapsid.org/boa.html quotes 10 feet

http://www.reptilerescueca.org/Boa.html 8-14

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red-tailed_Boa up to 12 feet, with the 14.5 foot record.
whats there to disagree with.?
i didnt say that there weren't any over 7 ft..i said i havent seen any.
so they cant disagree with what I've seen.:?
however..i dont care what those sites you linked, say..I havent seen any over 7 feet.
simple as that.
