oh my gosh, we have a corn snake with the same name!
Corns are such sweethearts, we handle ours all the time, its totally safe :)
P.S just a note here, best not to handle if they have just eaten or they are about to shed, thats more for snakes health than yours tho :)

I've had 3 corns only one of which tried to eat me lol just kidding but it did take a swing or two at me. Worst that happens is you get small lacerations and will bleed similar to a nick with a razor knife. Sounds bad but its soo small the wound dries up in the hour.

How big is it atm? Im just curious, maybe they get used to handling easier if they are younger? Ours was tiny when we had it.

Asking if a corn is safe to handle is like asking if it's safe to breathe air. :) Seriously though, in my 6 years of reptile keeping, and the many dozens of corns I've come across...I've NEVER seen one try to bite or behave defensively in any manner. That's not to say they don't bite, I have heard of them taking their shots, but aggressive corns are few and far between.

I work with razor blades for a living, a snake bite is NOTHING compared to a razor blade nick. It's more like a very quick prick with several needles. You barely feel it, and when they do break the skin, it feels itchy for a few minutes. Unless you have skin like wet toilet paper, a baby corn will not break your skin, no matter how hard it tries.

You got that snake for $55? That is expensive. At shows you can find babies for $10-$20.
