Ok guys just got the life scared out of me i just got a new H.lividum and her plastic contaner she was held in was way to small and no where near enough substrate for her to make a nice burrow,so i moved her as you do so i done her new one much bigger by like 2 1/2 times bigger than the old one. reached up my wooden forcepes and tryed to move her into a smaller plastic deli cup to move her (read about there temperment) so as doing so i touched her once and nothing so i did it again and in me doing so she spun round into threat posture and attacking like ive never seen a T do before she c60e ha3f way out and just enough so i could get her in the cup once in she was still attacking the inside of the cup she is in her new container and im leaving her to calm down not looking forward to misting lol :D

Thanks for reading pearson

I know exactly what you mean! I used a paper towel tube because I didn't have anything else handy at the time, and it was longer than a pen, and boy did she attack the heck out of that tube! Just the force of her hitting it was enough to make me nervous. I imagine that would have left one giant bruise if I had gotten tagged by her, let alone just the bite itself would have sucked. Glad everything went OK in the end, though, and you made it out alive! :D

This is one spider that hasn't appealed to me yet... a little ball of fury that I never get to see, lol. I'm sure I'll end up getting one eventually tho. Enjoy your angry little beast :D

I was very apprehensive when i had to move mine. I posted a thread about the move here: http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?t=112496&highlight=hellspawn

I hope it's helpful. In the end it wasn't as bad as i expected. My biggest fear with fast t's is always that I'll lose control of the situation and get an escaped T. Sure, i don't wanna get bit but i REALLY don't want to chase an angry, bitey beast all over my bathroom!

thanks buts its a bit late all i did was put the old little tub in the tank i was rehousing then moved her with a nice "LONG" wooden spoon she did spin round to attack it like she does but then she ran out really fast into her new enclosure and is now happy and ohh es she wanted to"Give me a hug" as you put it :D :D thanks your method seemed way simpler

P.S have you got a pic of your cobalts setup if you dare take the lid off

Thanks pearson34
