Guys I went to a reptile show last week and ran into a friend of mine that breeds tarantulas.
He hooked me up with a really cool species. Have you guys ever heard of an Avicularia Pucallpa?
It's common name is Mardi Gras Pink Toe

the WSC doesn't list an Avicularia pucallpa so what you acctually have is probably an Avicularia sp. collected from a location in or around 'Pucallpa' in Peru.

What is it labled as? Avicularia sp. 'Pucallpa'? Or something else?

i am really no Avicularia expert, but this could very well be a locality of an already described species. No disrespect, it could be something new, but essentially what you have is just another unknown, we got too many of those already in my opinion.

Still, if you ever manage to get it identified having a spider with known locality is great.

I saw this ad as well the other day. Upon searching, they aren’t quite as bright and shiny as they appear there. Don’t have one though, so I could be wrong!

Pretty sure this name is defunct, and this t is now (as of several years ago) one of the juronesis morphotypes....I cant recall which one...I had one many years ago when the revision was taking place.

Hmm, idk. The pic that I posted is recent.
The breeder that sold me the sling was the first to inform me about them.
I'm not arguing, because I don't know. I would like to find more info on the species tho

Not much apart from what the seller had listed (one of the big on line UK sellers).
I believe they did get them form a UK breeder but don't know who that is.
All mine are slings atm and look a lot like the other avic babies, pink body, black feet, chevron pattern abdomen.
Looking forward to seeing then change colours though.
Observation....The slings I have do seem to be pretty timid and not as food responsive as many of the other avic species I have.

This is my first Avic, but, I've noticed the same thing about it's food response. I've offered a pre-killed mealworm twice, so far, and no interest has been shown

I’ve seen these on the net. But I think the well known pic you posted of this locality is of a male.
