This is Mackerel, destroyer of worlds, collector of seeds.

Behold his majestic presence.

His voice is also one of the most annoying things that I've ever heard.

Very cute! Love your description too!

So would you recommend a Quaker?
No, they're the most annoying birds that I've ever seen and my dad kept 2000+ parrots.

But if you can stand that they're nice.
They're extremely intelligent for a parakeet.

Haha, I was waiting to see your response them being good pets. I've yet to meet one who wasn't such a handful for such a small bird. I doubt I would recommend one to most people ;)

My parrotlet sticks mostly to just trying to feed me. I used to have a lovebird who...well, lived up to his name.

My bird rates your bird an eight, because he can't count any higher than that.

do pet birds defecate on a regular basis around the house (while not in their cage)? is there a "bird diaper" that can be used? I've thought about a pet bird (species tbd after research) but the fact they can't be "potty trained" to my knowledge has always kind of dissuaded me.

They do, and bird diapers exist.

They can be potty trained, mine was.

Sadly, I had to leave Mackerel a few months ago as the whole neighbourhood complained about noise pollution.
He went back to my uncle, who has a whole flock of quackers.

See, I love the sounds mine makes. Sounds like a monkey in the jungle.
Why are you needlessly exposing your bird to predators such as cats? that's really irresponsible and an incredibly BAD idea.

Mine was too. He flew to his cage whenever he had to poo.

I love Quakers!! They are a handful though. Not a pet for the faint of heart. Mine was such a sweetheart-- to me. He rapidly chased and attacked everybody else. My mom and brother were not thrilled. Lol

The first word he learned was "out," which he screeched loudly and repeatedly whenever he was locked in his cage. He also had a habit of climbing down my arm, out onto my fork, and eating my food before I could get it in my mouth. Little brat, that one was. ;)

My Cats have been around birds since kittens. You make it sound like these are wild cats. They don't care for birds.
