It's a defensive move.

Some go into a full threat posture, others will do the butt raising move first.

Maybe, who knows. They do tons of odd stuff.
My PZB's do that all the time. If you look real close
you can see them try to flick hairs. My son says they
look like they are trying to kick start a motorcycle:)
The ones we have are about an inch in size.

Do PZB's have airborne urticating hairs? Either way, it sounds like a defensive posture. They can press or kick their urticating hairs from the starting point.

I've noticed Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens do this too, particularly as spiderlings. As mentioned already, it is a defensive move.

The only tarantulas I have seen spray excrement are the Avicularias and my small Psalmopoeus irminia.

It's quite amusing.
They walk off, raise the abdomen and *squirt* pop a little white blob out. It goes pretty far, a few feet anyway.
That's about as "vicious" as my Avic gets...
