I have a flock of some rare and unusual breeds of chickens. I love my chickens! They are my stress relief! I love just watching them scratch around the yard. Because modern farmers use specialized breeds of livestock many of the breeds used by our ancestors are on the verge of extinction! I currently have Spangled Russian Orloff chicks. Orloffs are critically endangered. There are only 500 breeding flocks left in existence.
Here's some pics of my chicks. The Orloffs all have white mixed "spangled" feathers. The other chicks are feather footed Partridge Cochins and BB Red Old English Bantams.

I also have some mixed breed chicks that I let free range around our farm. Here's some pics of them.

Ginger- Gold Phoenix on her nest hidden under our grape vines. Her babies are hatching right now!
