I have a flock of some rare and unusual breeds of chickens. I love my chickens! They are my stress relief! I love just watching them scratch around the yard. :eek:Because modern farmers use specialized breeds of livestock many of the breeds used by our ancestors are on the verge of extinction! I currently have Spangled Russian Orloff chicks. Orloffs are critically endangered. There are only 500 breeding flocks left in existence.

Here's some pics of my chicks. The Orloffs all have white mixed "spangled" feathers. The other chicks are feather footed Partridge Cochins and BB Red Old English Bantams.

I also have some mixed breed chicks that I let free range around our farm. Here's some pics of them.

Brahmas are nice friendly chickens. I had some Light Brahmas when I was growing up. They were great chickens. You will enjoy them.

Here's a picture of a chicken that I took at the county fair last year.

I don't know. It wasn't labeled and its owners weren't around.

Lol, I'm sorry. My brain swapped "at" for "to".

I just looked it up and it is, although it's probably several generations away from the orignal cross.

That "chicken" is creepy, sexy, cool! What is it?

Edit: never mind, my reading comprehension is a little off today.

That would be what you call a "Showgirl". It is created by crossing Turkens (Naked Necks) with Silkies. They call the breed Showgirls because they look like Vegas Dancers. LOL.
