I've decided to make the priority of my new frog hobby large frogs exceeding 5 inches in size. Ive been researching potential candidates for my collection, and of course I came across Rana goliath, the Goliath Bullfrog of Africa, the larges frog species in the world.

It can exceed legspans of 14 inches, and may weigh up to 10 pounds.

I was wondering if anybody had information about this frog in captivity. I know if I had the qualification I would attempt to establish the frog in captivity.

Its status in the wild is vulnerable and there is very little known about them. Does anybody have knowledge regarding this species that they would like to share?

Thanks

There was a guy several years ago who arranged to import some in order to start breeding them, but AFAIK he failed. To the best of my knowledge, this species has proven difficult to establish in captivity. They apparently stress very easily, and obviously require big enclosures, even bigger than you might expect.

Yeah I would assume caging would need to be spacious as they seem more active and mobile than other large frog species.
