I went to the Raleigh Expo this weekend and came up with a few pics, several of which, I think, came out pretty well! :)

I also had the pleasure of meeting and doing some trading with Michael Jacobi. What a great guy! :) I definitely recommend that you do business with him if you get the chance. I will be posting a review for him soon.

Anyhow, enjoy the pictures!!!

That's right, Holley! Thanks! I knew it was something with a 'C' :8o

I only know of this one expo that comes to NC but it comes in the Spring and Fall--that's plenty for me because I'd be buying too many Ts too! {D I always block off my whole weekend for the expo and spend all of Saturday and Sunday there! :)

Love the cockatoos... we have one that is a rescue. She is from the time that it was still legal to import them and has had a rough time of it, but she still has the beauty and personality that makes the moluccans a fav :)

Very nice pics!
I love the birds, they always make great photo subjects.
I wish there were expos like that near here but we never get anything cool like that in Kansas unless you live in KC.

And last, but far from least, two of my favorite birds: a blue macaw and 2 moluccan cockatoos--they were the sweetest things! And so pink! :)
Those cockatoos look innocent enough, but I know they secretly want to pluck out my eyes and eat them like a couple of delicious berries. I was at Petsmart last night and they actually had a moluccan cockatoo for sale. I went up to it and it told me that my eyes looked like berries as it licked its beak. ;P

Anyways, thanks for sharing your pictures. I always melt at the sight of a pile of baby Beardies. "Awwwwwwwwwww."

With a few exceptions of course the Cockatoos are actually amongst the least likely to bite of the large birds. Most of them tend to do well around strangers where some of the Macaws do not.

our local feed and grain store has two cockatoos for sale. One of them is a male, and is sometimes out and roaming around the store. (when he's behaving). He really likes me for some reason, and will always say hello to me, and whistle! He also really wants to climb on me, but he can turn from sweet to nasty WAY too fast, so I don't let him. Sometimes he's in a really bad mood, and he will scream his head off, like a 2 year old having a tantrum. I really really like him, but I don't think large birds are anywhere in my future. They take way too much attention, and would probably outlive me too. So many people get them as pets not realizing what goes into their care. I dread the day somebody buys this boy, he's pretty happy being the shop bird, and tormenting the shop dog :D

I'm with you immortal--if i want something that takes that much attention, I'll have kids. I love big birds like african greys and cockatoos, but yeesh, talk about needy...
