I don’t know where to find this information nor how to ask for it.

once i made a post, when it comes to edit, i can not add quotes.

how would i do that if it is possible, without coding.

otherwise, i will learn how to code it.

Yes. I can do them before i post.

once my post is done, i can not “edit” and add more. Then i end up needing to make more posts. Which is not what i wish to do.

Try both of the following links:

I am thinking that if you are wishing to add a quote to an already existing post, the best way would be the "highlight" way. It is mentioned in both links that I provided.

On a side note, I found another (maybe easier) way to do so. Simply click the "reply" button, type your response. However, BEFORE you click on "post reply", press the "enter" button (to skip a line, like you would do to make a new paragraph) and then click on the "reply" button on the next post that you wish to reply to. It will include it in the same post that you are trying to make. This way, all of your replies will now be in one single post, rather than creating multiple posts in a row. I believe this method should also work when you edit an existing post.

After you click on "edit", place your cursor where you want the quote to be placed, and then go to that post and click "reply". It should then include the quote in the post that you are editing.

Please let me know if any of the above was helpful. :)

What Debby wrote above is good when adding a new post, but wont work when editing an already existing one. While there is no easy way to edit an already existing post to add a quote, it can be done with a few more steps :)

1. Highlight the text that you want to quote in your already existing reply and click "reply"

2. Copy the text that is now in the reply box:

3. Click "edit" on the post that you want to add the quote to.
4. Paste what you copied from the reply box into your post where you want it.

Hope that helps

For step number 1, in Scott's post, you can also just simply click on the "reply" button. It will achieve the same result. After that, you will still need to follow steps 2 through 4.

Personally, I find that the highlight option is easier if you only want to quote part of the post. Clicking on "reply" will quote the entire post (which you can also edit any part out that you wish). :)

Please make sure that your reply is AFTER the bracket from the quote. So if you see [/QUOTE], your reply should be after that. Otherwise it gets messy for us to sort out and fix. ;)
