One of my Giant Africans has developed these 3 pale bands on their lower body. I can't find anything on google regarding this - I'm presuming it means she's due a shed any day? If not, what is this?

2.
Recently spotted some giant africans in a local pet store. Noticed the one had really bad crush injuries so decided then and there on the spot that they were coming home with me. Injuries are more extensive that originally thought - the worst being near the head, which has lead to limited vertical movement (side to side is unhindered). Millipeded seems otherwise happy and healthy - will the damage get better over time?

I dont keep millipedes so dont take my word for it, the crush damage looks ok as long as the millipede is acting normal, it may come off during a molt, either way i dont know if there is much you can do so just watch over it and make sure it doesnt have problems doing any normal millipede things. The first one i have no idea what those bands mean, usually when they about to molt they whole body gets duller in color but i never heard of these band things. Sorry i couldnt help much hopefully someone who is millipede expert replies to this.

Sometimes they can heal after a few molts (though never perfectly). If it seems strong and healthy don't worry about. Otherwise it may be time for the circular gate to millipede heaven.

awh, poor baby. Glad you were able to take it home! I'm also curious if it'll heal up over time.

Oh my Gosh poor baby. I heard these millipedes are sensitive to crushing and impacts. I hope it'll be okay.
How long habe you kept millipedes for? Ive never seen these white rings either. If the animal had molted recently, they maybe it was an issue with the molt.

So the crushed one seems to be doing just fine. I'm hoping when she gets to her next moult the crush will just pop right off and she'll be fine. They've all got calcium supplements too so fingers crossed!

I've been keeping them for about 2 years now. This is one of my newer ones that has developed the banding and it's bizarre. It's almost like the segements have pulled apart from one another?
