You can always get a light for it... you should have a light or something to provide it with heat as it is as well as humidity. But considering they spend about 85% of their time in their hide..
All life forms that spend any time outside of a cave, nocturnal or diurnal, require a day night cycle to establish their circadian rhythm which effects their sleeping and feeding patterns as well as their breeding cycles.
Now that is not to say that they need a bright light beaming down on them, light coming in a window across the room will do, but they must have something to set their internal clock by.
Scorpions have such a good internal clock that they dont need day and night cycle.. i use day and night cycle myself but you can keep scorpions in total darkness 24/7 but it will still only come out at night..
It's best to mimic a natural photoperiod. Scorpions have an internal circadian clock. If you keep them in complete darkness, they will still only be active during certain hours. If you will check your scorpions activity at night, you will see what I mean. I give all my scorps a 12-14 hour photoperiod.
Another thing is, how are you going to heat the enclosure with the lights off during the day. Especially emps need fairly high temps, between 25-30 Celsius.
It all depends on what you mean by night time enviornment. It is not the light that is important during the day, but the heat. As in their enviornment it is always hotter during the day. Scorps have extremely poor vision to begin with, so just use a red heat bulb to heat them up during the day.
I don't think it would have any ill-effects on them, my scorps get a day and night cycle because they are exposed to light in my room, but i've also kept babies in a dim room and they did fine.
I agree. I am away most of the day, and the only lights that are kept on them are the red light heat bulbs. Since they cannot see red light, to them they are constantly in the dark.
Theres no harm in an all night enviroment. The only problem is their internal clock slowly goes off untill they start coming out during the day. Dont keep the temps to low but most of mines do well without a heater just grow slower.

I keep my scorps at room temp and they get light from the window. They come out anytime they want. I've had no problems with them. And they feed ravenously.
