In july i bought what i was told to be a female cobalt blue. it molted about 3 days ago and ive noticed a big change in size, color and has now grown hooks. this is the first time i have had tarantulas so i dont have a great deal of knowledge about them and still learning.
my question is how long do males live for after they grow their hooks?
also if this question is allowed? is there any good ways to breed him? as i do not want to loose my 8 legged friend without an heir to his castle!

OW Mature males tend to live less than NW males as they have higher metabolisms and a male probably won't be viable for the whole length of his mature life maybe only 6-8 months or so. If you want to breed him it would be good to post a post in the 'invertsonals' section of this site and see if you can find a person with a female in your general region and is within driving distance (you can always meet halfway) if you don't feel equipped to pack him up and ship him.
