I hope this is the right place to post.
Is there a reason to have a explosion in Turkistan Roach males in a breeding colony?
I can’t find anything that says temperatures, age of colony, etc determine sex, though I’ll gladly admit I may be just missing it somehow.
I add new bloodlines frequently to so I’m at a loss.
I’ve always had a near even mix of mature male to female but recently I have a huge amount of males out of no where, to the point it’s probably close to 70% or even more are now male.
Seems like every time I check the colony there’s more and more males.
I currently have 100s upon 100s of new nymphs hatched and if there is some environmental factor I’m somehow unaware of I want to fix it now. Again,I’ve kept colonies of them for awhile and never seen this happen before to this extent.
