i have 3 10 gallon tanks that my t's are in, a grammostola gala, haplopelma lividurm, and a pterinochilus morinus. would it be ok if i build a divider to split the tank into 2 sections? or would the t's see eachother and maybe become stressed, or agitated? any tips? thanks for reading

We have one 10 g divided with polyurethane foam board. The T'a don't see each other and it is a sturdy barrier. You have to make sure that it divides very top to very bottom. Don't leave any space for an accidental meeting. We have one of those heavy metal screen tops on the divided tank.

ok cool. my dad has a glass company and i think ima go over there one day and split the tank with glass and just silicone it in place. im too cheap to buy more tanks so ima just spilt them in half to make more for my t's coming up from the irba show here in san mateo :D

In making this decision, also keep in mind the extreme sensitivity tarantulas possess. They can sense us walking around the house. They become used to it eventually. They can sense, even if they can't "see", their neighbor next door through vibrations on the glass or whatever you use to split the tank. And also keep in mind that tarantulas really have no way to show us they are agitated or scared (other than threat display, and that is extreme agitation or fear), unhappy (other than listlessness or constant escape attempts which could also just be attributed to boredom or restlessness and need to explore and wander or to disliking substrate), or discomfort. I don't imagine it would directly harm them in any way. I personally don't use dividers simply because I don't want to risk any agitation of the tarantulas sensing there is another critter on the other side of the "wall" and not being able to get to it to investigate. Apparently, though, people do it and their ts are just fine. I guess it's just a personal preference of mine. What arachnopunks and manville stated is very important as well as far as there being no space for them to get to one another.
