question about lighting

what would you all recommend for t's, the red light or that dark purpleish one? i know they dont like light and are nocturnal so should i use the purple one? it suppose to be some kind of moon light thing. im doing this for heating purposes. can anyone help me? thanks

We have used red lights of a low wattage (25w) for illuminating our T's. The T's don't seem to mind that color or even notice for that matter. As for the purple light does it get hotter than the red bulbs? The 25w colored bulbs we have used do not get very hot. As for heating, it isn't advisable to use light for heat. The extra heat can dry out your enclosure and the T itself. Your indoor ambient temp should be fine as long as the temp is over 60 degrees.
