Well you see I'm going to start using crickets for my emperor scorpion.

And I just wanted to know if I should just leave the crickets in the tank and let the scorpion ambush them, or should I hold the cricket with tweezers and feed it straight to the scorpion?

The crickets won't fly out of my tank or climb, will they?

I'd just drop it in. I usually lead mine into my emp's burrow, where they are never seen from again.

Nah, I'm sure you have a top, so the flying out won't be a problem.

you can hold the cricket and hand them directly to your emperor's claws and they can take it that way. emperors are pretty harmless

I appreciate watching my scorp or Ts taking down prey, so if you want to watch something interesting I would rather dump the cricket in and wait! {D

IME emps don't have ferocious appetites, so they can go on a fast for weeks sometimes, for no apparent reason...I guess it depends on it's metabolic rate, along with other factors, such as heat (which as an effect on the metabolic rate!)

How often does he feed usually?

Well actually I just got him last Wednesday and he hasn't eaten since.

what temperatures do you have it at?
The temperature is around 86 F and drops down to a 70 F at night.

It's a rare occasion I see my P Cavimanus eat. Usually all I see is legs scattered around the tank.

if you scorpion is not very thin, then i wouldn't worry about him so much.
since you just got him, he may be a little startled and stressed with all the moving around.
give him some time to settle in and try feeding him again about 5-7 days.
temperatures that you got him is perfect.
