So for about a year now, I have been searching for the supposed most common Jumper species in Texas: Phidippus audax. However, no luck. But today I have moved to my new house, and finally, I have found not one, but TWO! A juvenile and an adult female!! 4FEB0C51-0DD1-4802-801C-CD04C6AEA08A.jpeg 52320EB3-B8D2-4983-BCF5-8E29C4B27438.jpeg 220B38AB-6EB2-4CB8-B45E-6713EFAE44A5.jpeg 8E237360-331B-4D01-8828-5205B39E225A.jpeg

Very pretty and very similar to my Audaxes even though they're from different areas. Audaxes seem to be the most common here too. So far, I have two females and a male with one female expecting babies. Congratulations on your finds.

Well what a day indeed I found a male today for the first time in Texas! Love the tufts of setae on legs 1&2 for the males! 4FEFB115-D08D-493A-99D9-83E3D6706F82.jpeg A6A884C5-DE00-4936-99ED-ED3D778E173E.jpeg

Texas? Try North America- by far one of the most common, maybe the most.

I’ve seen a few without looking. The females can be huge!!! Saw one on my shorts once.

Audax is such an awesome species. I find them all around my house here in Kentucky, they seem to love the walls of our garden beds, and the old wooden play fort in our backyard. I found my juvenile female inside the fort. I was smoking weed in it and looked up, and the little fat female was right above me looking down on me. I had been looking for a female for months, only finding males.

I love audax, great personality and great feeding response.

My first audax (first jumping spider) was a free range male that decided not to stay in our bathroom. but came into our bedroom near our bed. I had told it previously that it could remain free so long as it stayed in the bathroom, but if it went anywhere else inside the house, it would become my pet (my bf is afraid of spiders). You can guess the rest lol. Shadow is such an awesome spider.

Woah, congrats on your new little friends! Those pictures are amazing, since jumping spiders are so active- I don't think mine will ever let me get a picture of the front of his cephalothorax for an ID .

I’ve been on the same quest. I can’t seem to find any around my house. I bet if I stop searching they will appear and taunt me with silly songs about how bad I am at finding them.
