Queens queens everywhere I think...

Well I think I have finally caught some interesting queens not the giant black queens but some others that look kinda cool vThe winged ant in my pics settled into a log and I have not seen it so I am assuming its fertile. All of these queens (I think were caught in my pool LOL.

I call these yellow butts for the obvious reasons {D

Good job you know what to look for.

The first is Lasius neoniger alate, probably unmated sorry.

Second is Formica nitidensiventris. I don't know if I spelled that wrong lol, I'm too lazy to check to make sure its right but its pretty close.
This queen appears mated as she has no wings. Put her in a test tube with a water reserve or a small container with a piece of moist cotton or 2, make sure the humidity stays up and there is moisture in the area (not standing water). I have 2 of these queens right now.

We will see the winged one settled in and disapeared the other did not....
