Alright, so let's talk pyxie frogs, what is the best substrate? Can I use a non-chemical potting soil? Or would Eco Earth be the best choice? Also, I've read mixed things about lighting, so I thought I'd ask more directly; do they need UVB lighting/calcium dustings? WHat temperatures should they be kept at? Lastly can a male and female be kept in a 20 gal when they are around 4"s?

Thanks,
Paul

pointing me out to some good reliable caresheets would be good.

Haven't kept pixies myself so I'd be reticent to give advice, but I would check out this care sheet on Frog Freaks, as well as the board itself; there's some pretty experienced pixie frog keepers on there.

Hello Paul, I have no personal exp. but have read and talked alot about these.

Eco earth would be best...unless you find a potting mix composed solely of peat and bark mix. Anyway, eco-earth would still be better.

They need calcium(with D3)/vitamin supplementing, but not UV light. As adults they don't need it as frequently, esp. when you take into the account the amt of calcium in mice.

I wouldn't risk putting two together.

Best sub: Coco fiber ONLY, don't bother with anything else.
Ideal temp: 85F
Lighting: Totally optional.
UVB: Don't need it.
Dusting: Vitamins weekly, calcium, well there's a ton of opinions. Small/juvies need more than adults.
Communal pyxies: If you want to bet with your buds which one you will find alive someday, sure. These guys are voracious, don't keep them together.

Extra info JIC you forgot to mention or already know:
-Tank: Adults 20gal minimum.
-Always dechlorinate water.
-Keep a water source big enough for it to splash in, they love using it.
-If using heating pad place on side of tank, these frogs burrow and it would burn them if placed underneath.
-Care sheets? LAWL.

EDIT- Might wanna look into estivation/aestivation and chytrid fungus.
