I'm trying to find a species of tarantula that I remember seeing pictures of and it had some decently purple coloring to it. I can't remember what it was called exactly, and i've done some searching under the key words "purple Tarantula" and i'm getting a lot of images of an certain species of Avicularia. But the specific spider i'm trying to remember though, I believe was a Terrestrial species, possibly in the Gramastola Genus but possibly not. I also know it was indigenous to one of the american continents more than likely south america or one of the close islands. it wasn't anything from Africa, Australia, or Asia. Anyone have any ideas?

I agree with the above posts. X. Intermedia look very nice with a vibrant purple carapace, with black markings.

Many MM Pamps and Phormics are electric purple....but its only males, and only AFTER they've matured. I'd bet that's what you saw.
