Purchasing Snails in Texas?

Hi there,
I am fully aware that importing snails in the states is not allowed, but have read some literature stating that it's perfectly legal to have native snails as pets.
I was wondering if anyone knew vendors or keepers within Texas that had some to sell, or if my best bet is trying to catch them myself.

I think it's Cornu aspersum that is common here in Texas. They get pretty big for a land snail in Texas. I found some while walking on a hiking trail a couple of weeks ago. I've seen them in Brenham and in Bryan, Houston. They are all over the place but the conditions seem to have to be just right for there to be a bunch of them. Act like you're looking at houses for sale and walk around them looking on the walls lol, that's where I see a lot now and then, dormant in the Summer heat.
