I've had a Malaysian Blue Femur sling for over 6 months now. I didn't see it very often because it made a nest with a tunnel under the substrate and only emerged at night. One day I was re-housing it so that I could see it whenever I wanted. It is the fastest spider I've ever seen. Once it realized the top was off it's enclosure it ran up the side and jumped about 3 feet onto my bed. I eventually cornered it with both cupped hands whereupon it proceeded to run up my arm (under a long sleeve shirt) biting me
repeatedly and enthusiastically along the way. Eventually, I got it into it's new enclosure where it sits in it's man-made nest all day, displaying a truly menacing posture. Real evil :mask:
The bites were very painful (nowhere near a 'pedes bite) and produced little lumps under my skin like the kind you get from a PPD test. :alien: The pain and swelling disappeared after 30 minutes with no permanent effects.

But for all those with a Malaysian Blue Femur - be extremely careful  when dealing with this tiny, evil monster. It is surely the fastest and bite-prone insect I've ever encountered. And slowest growing, btw.
