My sister found this pretty crab spider living on her rose bush, so I snapped a picture. It was a really gorgeous spider. My sister is arachnophobic and even she appreciated this one.
I believe the species is Misumena vatia, a flower spider.

Wow, what a pic... The spider is sooooo white, i dont understand why it would live on such a red flower though, hehe. To try being a star?

Thoose can change color. I have found white and red ones (like yours) and I have also found complete yellow ones. Depend on what color the flower have they are sitting on waiting for food.

Ah, yes. Stark white is practically invisible on pinkish orange :D

A joke, of course. Probably an artifact of the picture, or the spider was a newcomer to that flower. Maybe it was color blind?

Insect can see UV-light. That can make the spider almost invisible on a pink flower because most flowers look different in UV-light. I saw that in a documentary of David Attenborough.

I have seen them in pink, white, yellow, and I think brown. But can they change any other colors? If they were put on a purple flower, would they turn purple?

Thank you for all the nice comments everybody!

This spider was living on that plant for quite a while, so I guess it didn't feel the need to change colour. I'm not sure that it would be possible for it to become that pink/red colour anyway. Typically they change between whites and yellows.
I guess the hunting was really good among the roses! It must be gone now though, all the roses are dead or dying.

Awesome pictures!
That is a really interesting looking spider, I can see how well it would blend in on a tree or something.

Those brown ones I see most often, they are common here. One time I saw a brown crab spider, but with a dull red abdomen, probably a different species though.
