Pressurized Misters For Inverts

Used to have access to these in some of my volunteer and paid positions pre COVID. I "missed" them, but resisted buying one for my personal collection and other stuff I keep... until today. Cut my invert time from 40 minutes daily to 25, and no more hand cramps. If you haven't done it, do it. Well worth paying again once it breaks given the amount of time it saves.

Ah, so you have learned the secret to true invertebrate-keeping mastery...
Alas, my excellent Mr. Mister bottle has broken after years of service; it easily held twice the volume of one of the standard reptile pressurized misters and was a joy to have around.

Thanks,

I used to have access to pasteurized milkers. It really was a game changer.

@goliathusdavid Check this out: https://lablaab.com/product/ds350-ninth-generation-wireless-nano-blue-light-atomizer/
About $30 here. I thought it was a wonky toy at first but it works like a charm and has pumped several liters of alcohol into the air where my wife works without any problems. It really does atomize, about the same output as a nebulizer. Great for pissing off the cats that get up where they don't belong.
When I need a phaser for my next trip on the enterprise, definitely an affordable one

Ever wonder about a Jedi with a light saber in one hand and a blaster in the other?
As far as a mister goes, that zot thing seems to get with the program. Incidentally that silly pistol thing actually sits steady on a flat surface and can be left running unattended.

I need a new water sprayer because when I’m spraying the tanks, half leaks and goes to the floor. I will need one of those misting systems

I can't visualize your set up. However, I've checked out those misting systems, a consumers nightmare. Priced from $15 to $15,000. But I saw one ingenious very affordable and adaptable home brew system that impressed me. Someone scavenged the components of a small RO drinking water system. (They can be bought new for under $100). Using the impulse pump from the RO system they connected it to a pressure line which had pigtails with misters on the end. It is doing a quite credible job keeping their 10 foot by 15 foot orchid room humidified. Of course it can be dialed down with less misters and the RO system also supplied low and high pressure cut offs and filter housing for various filters.

I'll prob drive my HDX pump sprayer into the ground. It's like the Honda Civic of pump sprayers. But for like $20 of pex tubing and a couple solenoids you could be sleeping instead of spraying.

At last, someone else who recognizes the "consumers nightmare"! The current systems available are ridiculously expensive if you want quality or quantity. I was actually wondering how feasible it would be to make my own system with aquarium tubing, small PVC pipes, and a small aquarium pump of some sort. A disassembled R/O unit would certainly do just as good if not a better job though by the sounds of it...

Thanks,

I'm unsure of aquarium tubing but that stuff is available everywhere. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/k...4m.searchlist.list.65.5cd04415B6peyK&search=1
Aquarium pump however is out. Not enough pressure - all about volume. You need at least 30 PSI or so thus a RO pulse pump is the cat's meow. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/u...o4m.searchlist.list.1.701d39d1bY9ILC&search=1
They come in all sorts of voltages and with adapters. Then it's just bang some supply tube out and pigtails with the micro-orifices, all commonly available. They even have plugs for undoing holes poked in the wrong place in the supply tubes. All very simple. Your only watch for is to use filtered water like a 5 micron polypro filter as the orifices plug up very easily.
Note, the RO pump is all about pressure and can only supply a few mister orifices. The larger pumps skyrocket in price. You would want to use a pressure tank for more than a few seconds of misting. But that's super simply easy.

@Arthroverts Take note your entry level RO piump like on that web page only has an output of 1/10th of a gallon a minute free flow. Ideal for a few misters but not much more.

Herp owners like myself use automated misting systems - for decades- and they aren’t too expensive.

It's not the price of the mister, but the psychological damage that it can inflict on the stray neighborhood dogs.

You should use hand misters because then when they break or you don’t have enough money to get a new one, then you will not be used to spraying the tanks down
