I had 2 spiders remaining in the UK, a family member has cared for them for a few years now but a rather unexpected turn of events may have led to their demise.
I had a 20 year old red knee and a 13 year old pink foot goliath both from s/lings. A house fire perhaps exposed them to smoke, a cool period for the goliath probably didnt help, the house was unpowered for a while, anyway to cut it short, both died the last few weeks, it is somewhat dissapointing esp as i had both for a fair chunk of my entire life! caring for them remotely as such isnt ideal but i simply did not want to sell them just in case I ever moved back.
The red knee was huge, at 7 inches, both are now in the freezer and i'll mount them when i next visit.
RIP 'two tone' and 'big brown'.
