Hiya!
My married corn couple live happily together in the same tank and for about 1 to 2 months the male has been running after the female. About a week or two ago he stopped tho.
I havn't fed her for two weeks now and wanted to do so today (not him, he is changing clothes at the moment and it is obviously hopeless to try and feed him during that time) when I noticed a few peculiar things:
- She didn't wanna eat
- Normally she sheds skin about 2 weeks before him, this time she hasn't shed at all yet
- She stays on the heat pad, eventho she normally would get out of her way in order to stay in the cool part of the tank
- She looks kinda fat to me eventho she should be normally slim now (she looks as if she's just had 3 big mice).
- She has been really calm, or in other words - been very shy recently, not out much (out of the hide) until she went on the heat pad.
So if that means what I think it means then I will look out for her pre-egg-laying-shedding (there is one, right?) and then be quick to put a candy box with moist vermiculite right next to the heat pad (partially on it, even) and hope for the best.
Any suggestions, comments? It would be my first time for something like this to happen so I go in without experience.
