Finally got some pics (terrible quality pics as always) of my white kneed king cricket (Penalva flavocalceata). Not fully grown, it's only about 4cm long so he's only about a quarter or less of his adult weight

Little butt gave me a really painful bite a while ago. Cut straight through the tip of my thumb nail and my thumb, this was a while ago when he was much smaller too. Right now he can snap mealworm beetles and super worms clean in half

Also caught this predatory katydid a few days ago don't know the species, missing a leg and pretty skittish. This is just temporary housing btw.

Both eat a mix of fruit and crickets/mealworms mostly

That secon one looks like the long winged cone head bush crickets we have over here in the uk

It does have a vey small horn in the centre of its head, pretty sure there's a bunch of katydids with the same thing and most of the cone heads are predatory
